    About the data

ACS median owner-estimated value, median household income and median gross rent describe different household universes. Ratios of medians are descriptive comparisons, not typical household burdens. Margins of error are 90% intervals for the source estimates; derived ratios have no modeled uncertainty interval.

For ZIP selections: FHFA ZIP5 HPI and Census ZCTA statistics have different boundaries and definitions. ZCTA values are labeled separately and are never substituted for ZIP price observations. Cities/places have ACS statistics but no city HPI in this release. Missing or censored estimates remain unavailable.

Sources: FHFA annual HPI, 2024 ACS five-year summary files, 2025 Census boundaries. FHFA series are developmental, revised and based on eligible mortgage sales/appraisals; not all transactions. This product uses FHFA data but is neither endorsed nor certified by FHFA. Source: FHFA; U.S. Census Bureau. Not endorsed or certified by the Census Bureau.

Active listings, price reductions, days on market, automated property estimates, valuation scores and forecasts are unavailable. No Zillow, Realtor.com, Redfin or Reventure datasets are loaded.

Regional trends: FHFA quarterly all-transactions indexes for metro areas (OMB 2023 definitions), states and the non-metro part of each state, and FHFA’s monthly purchase-only index for Census divisions. They describe the surrounding region and are always labeled as metro, state or regional — never as a ZIP, county or city’s own value.
